Mathematics & Computer Science Department

Computer Sciences Department

Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University has been in place since 2001 and is a nationally ranked program. There is a focus on interdisciplinary research and current projects that students are invited to participate in including partnerships with other departments like Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Statistics and Physics and Astronomy. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Georgia State University offers a bachelor’s degree in computer science for students. This is a program that focuses on a mix of core courses as well as courses that are focused on the student’s concentration. Core courses are made up of mathematics, physics and language courses. Students who wish to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science will have six difference concentration areas to choose from including a theoretical computer science concentration, a graphics and human-computer interaction concentration and databases and knowledge-based systems concentration.
