About the Software
This open source software was developed by Google and released on November 9, 2015. Positive reinforcement is the tool that was employed in the “teaching” of DistBelief. When the system recognized a pattern correctly, it was given an affirmative response. In cases when it was wrong, adjustments were made so that patterns would more readily be recognized in future trials. This concept is expanded upon in the workings of the software at hand. An artificial neural network was created to sort through layers of information called “nodes” as a foundation for its learning. Each layer makes note of a more complex piece of an image in order to identify it. Tensor is the term that refers to this entire process of artificial learning, hence the program’s name.
