Master in Computational Science
The Master in Computational Science provides instruction in the use of computers to analyze and solve scientific problems. Students gain an understanding of the use of computers in biological sciences, environmental sciences, chemistry, geology, mathematics, and physics. The program can be completed in a thesis or non-thesis option. The first year of the program focuses on a core program while the second year focuses on a project or thesis. About Central Washington University
The Washington State Normal School opened its doors in 1891 with a mission to educate elementary and junior high teachers. Classes were held at the Washington Public School until the first building, Barge Hall, was completed in 1893. In 1937, the school was renamed Central Washington College of Education. The school’s name was changed again in 1961 to Central Washington College and gained university status in 1977.
Today, Central Washington University has an enrollment of over 13,000 people on eight campuses. The music, geology, paramedicine, physics, and education departments are nationally distinguished. Central Washington University Application Requirements
Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science must have a “C” or higher in a general academic writing course and must have required math courses. They must provide official high school transcripts and apply for pre-admission to the program when they enter Central Washington University.
Applicants to the Master in Computational Science must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. GRE and GMAT scores are not required. Although not required, it is recommended that applicants have a background in computer science, mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics or geology.
Central Washington University Tuition and Financial Aid
Full-time undergraduate tuition at Central Washington University is $6,170 for residents and $21,151 for non-residents. Western Undergraduate Exchange tuition is $10,321. Full-time graduate tuition is $9,214 for residents and $21,583 for non-residents.
Financial aid is available and all students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), regardless of income.
